Texarkana, TX (August 20, 2014) - Pillar Hotels & Resorts, one of the top hotel management companies in the United States, is pleased to announce a new leadership team in Texarkana, TX. Pillar has appointed Michael Kidd to Area General Manager and Cathy Hernandez to Area Director of Sales, overseeing operations for its three properties: Courtyard Texarkana, Hampton Inn & Suites Texarkana and TownePlace Suites Texarkana. The hotels are conveniently located off I-30 near many businesses and attractions including Central Mall, Christus St. Michael and Texas A&M Texarkana.
Michael Kidd joined Pillar as General Manager of Hyatt Place Tampa in February 2009 and was promoted to Area General Manager in February 2011. He previously oversaw several of Pillar's properties located in Florida and a handful of properties throughout the southeast region. Kidd has over 18 years of hospitality experience and has worked with Marriott, Starwood, Hilton and Hyatt. In his role as Area General Manager, he will build upon the foundation of exceptional guest service that Pillar's teams have in place, and support his teams in their efforts to align with community initiatives.

Cathy Hernandez joined Pillar in June 2014. Hernandez brings over 15 years of hospitality experience to the company and has previously held positions in management and sales. In her role as Area Director of Sales, she will work with local businesses and government organizations to meet their lodging and conference needs. Hernandez is a North Carolina native who recently relocated to the city and has already become an active member of various community organizations including the Symphony Orchestra, Women for A&M, Texarkana Country Club Women's Golf Association, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Chamber of Commerce.
