Irving, TX (May 23, 2014) - Pillar Hotels & Resorts is proud to be recognized with the Marriott Spirit to Serve Award for Community Service. The award was presented at the annual CFRST Owners and Franchisees Conference that took place at the JW Marriott Indianapolis May 18-21. The Marriott Spirit to Serve Award recognizes its recipients for demonstrating company values through employee volunteerism, in-kind and cash donations, and various community service initiatives.

"I am proud of the community support they have provided over the past year and I know they are continuously looking for more opportunities to give back."
Pillar's corporate office and community efforts of 200+ properties together benefit various organizations across the country including American Red Cross, Susan G. Komen, Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest, Ronald McDonald House Charity, the Wounded Warrior Project and Jezreel International. In 2013, Pillar hotels participated in Habitat for Humanity projects; provided Oklahoma City and Moline, IL disaster relief; celebrated Earth Day; and were involved with many blood drives, holiday toy drives, community car wash fundraisers, and food/clothing donation events.
Pillar is also a partner of the Special Olympics of Texas, and many members of the home office team dedicate their time throughout the year for various events across the DFW Metroplex, as well as hold regular fundraisers and provide generous monetary donations.
